Evro & Liquity's Friendly Fork Program

While extending Liquity’s base protocol, we did not do it in the dark or in secret. EVRO was built in the open for everyone to see and with permission from the Liquity team. We are a “Friendly Fork” and chose to pay a small license fee to them and have been granted the exclusive right to use Liquity's code on Gnosis Chain. In return Evro received enormous help directly from the Liquity and EVRO's team, sharing several team members with EVRO, the Friendly Fork that launched USND on Arbitrum. We benefited from their experience:

  • They gave us lots of technical support from incredible engineers like Colin Platt.
  • They shared their audit reports with us early which allowed us to improve the security of our protocol faster.
  • They helped us connect and partner with LP networks.
  • We also have to Mention that without the support and interest of the Gnosis Community, Evro also wouldn't be possible.

When Liquity & Gnosis win, Evro wins. When Evro wins, Liquity & Gnosis win.

Program Background​

Liquity V2 is published under a Business Source License (BUSL) such that, while the codebase is source available, any commercial deployment needs to be approved by Liquity AG.

A number of friendly forks catering to blockchain networks and collateral asset types not supported for BOLD minting have thus entered into licensing agreements with Liquity AG. In exchange for the right to deploy their own stablecoins using Liquity V2 code, these projects have committed to incentivize collaboration between their users and BOLD users.

Rewards​

All forks will reward BOLD users by incentivizing core use cases such as the main liquidity pools and the V2 Stability Pools. While allocation size and execution will vary, each fork will share its plan in a dedicated announcement.

Forks allocate and distribute their incentives directly to users by their discretion - the Leaderboard tracks all that activity.

Program Rules​

All friendly forks are responsible for communicating the details and implementation of their commitments, as well as distributing any program rewards.

The following points apply to all friendly forks:

  • Each friendly fork is required to audit any changes made to the Liquity V2 codebase in their specific deployment.
  • Each friendly fork is minting its own respective stablecoin, not BOLD.
  • Each friendly fork has the right to implement mutability as it sees fit.
  • Liquity AG is not in an ongoing partnership with any licensing entity.
